Djam Karet

This band has captured my imagination since I discovered their music (through the internet of course), and they still push the boundaries of progressive rock in a way that is unique and unrivalled. If you truly have an open mind about music then be prepared for a journey that will take you to distant places. I sound like a tripped-up hippy, I know, but they are so eclectic, their music could sound like anything from beautiful soundscape laden synths to ethic African dance beats! Djam Karet is Indonesian for 'elastic time' which is pretty descriptive of their music. Based in California they have an extensive back catalogue, and have recently provided music for the film 'The Black Dahlia Movie' directed by Ramzi Abed.
More of their music can be heard on their MySpace page.
